Polaris Human Capital

I am the founder of Polaris Human Capital Inc. I support visionary leaders with building great organizations through effective people programs that attract, retain and develop exceptional talent.

I believe that truly great leaders never lose sight of the fact that their success is determined by the people they surround themselves with. As your business grows in scale and complexity it will reach a point where you are no longer the one achieving the results but rather the results are being achieved through the efforts of others.
I am the guy you call when you are scaling your business and you need help navigating the complexities of human resource management. From recruitment, employee relations & governance to strategic people programs such as succession and workforce planning, leadership development and employee engagement.

Why gratitude is important to me

For me gratitude is the first step in leading an authentic life. We are the product of all the choices we made and the experiences we have lived. The good, the bad and the ugly. Gratitude gives me much needed perspective and allows me to see the forest for the trees and appreciate the contrast in the human experience.
The human experience falls on a spectrum from tragic to euphoric. Ranging from suffering and loss to moments of profound meaning, beauty, and growth. Gratitude gives me a much needed perspective on where my experience sits on that spectrum. It leads my heart to positivity in the most difficult moments and guides my consciousness to pause and appreciate the little moments of beauty that we so easily pass by in our day.

Uncle Tony

Mom's youngest brother died in the spring - he was the last living of the 10 siblings and I was fortunate to visit with him with Max just a couple weeks before he died. Today the family is celebrating his life in Halifax where he grew up. I had a special connection with Uncle Tony - I'm not sure why, but maybe it was because it always seemed like he was my age or younger !

Today I’m grateful for:

  • being a part of the "Fry" family

  • getting to see folks this afternoon and fete Uncle Tony - I hope we do it as well as he has always feted others

  • Uncle Tony's encourage and the way he challenged me whenever I said someone was "awesome". He would say, "People are not awesome. Awesome is not a word to describe a human being." I loved hearing it from him !

What are you grateful for today ?
